Blueprint Gaming’s Fishin' Frenzy Megaways is a 6-reel slot with up to 15,625 ways to win with every spin. The fortune-altering free spins rounds and prize symbol collection deliver wins worth up to 10,000x your bet.

You’ll feel at home with this slot if you like to play it a little safe, but you still love the idea of chasing more exciting payouts. This is a technically sound game, but the betting range limits your potential.

Pros
  • High potential: You could score up to 10,000x your bet.
  • Powerful bonus: Enjoy free spins and a cash collect bonus.
  • No-frills: The simple gameplay is easy to pick up.
Cons
  • Stingy betting range: The maximum bet doesn’t inspire much excitement.

Bonus Features in Fishin' Frenzy Megaways

Chloe's Take: The collect mechanic during the Free Spins rounds is what makes this slot interesting to me. Every Fisherman symbol that lands sweeps up all the fish cash values on the reels at once, and landing multiple Fishermen in the same spin means you collect multiple times. It’s a simple idea, but it creates some genuinely exciting moments.

The game’s bonus features include a Free Spins round and prize symbol collection.

Here’s a breakdown of the bonus features and how they help you win:

1. Free Spins

Land 3, 4, 5 or 6 Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels to trigger 10, 15, 25, or 50 Free Spins, respectively.

During Free Spins, the fish symbols come with attached cash values. If the Fisherman's symbol lands on the same spin as any cash symbols, it will combine the values of all Fish symbols in view and add them to your balance.

You can land multiple Fishermen on every spin, meaning you can collect the prize values more than once.

2. Bonus Buy

Skip the base game tedium and instantly access the Free Spins round with the bonus buy option. Tap the button on the main screen to pay 100x your bet in exchange for a bonus round trigger.

Fishin' Frenzy Megaways Volatility and Return to Player

Chloe's Take: The 96.1% RTP is decent, and the medium volatility kept things pretty steady for me—for better or for worse, as my session only had a handful of genuinely exciting moments. That said, the $10 maximum bet is the real limiter here; a 10,000x max win seems impressive until you do the math and realize the ceiling is $100,000, not the hundreds of thousands that you can theoretically win on other slots.

Fishin' Frenzy Megaways has an above-average RTP of 96.1%, but this is a theoretical measurement, and not a ‘hard’ stat.

The volatility is medium, so while your bankroll might not be as protected as with a low volatility slot, you won’t get the extreme peaks and valleys of a higher-volatility title.

The base game doesn’t offer much action, so you may feel compelled to spice things up with the Bonus Buy option.

How Does Fishin' Frenzy Megaways Compare to Similar Megaways Slots?

While Fishin' Frenzy Megaways offers exciting bonus action, the game experience has a laid-back vibe. Let’s see how this title compares to three other Megaways slots you can relax to.

Fishin' Frenzy Megaways Symbols and Payouts

Chloe's Take: The symbols (pelican, rod, lifebuoy, tackle box, etc.) are exactly what you’d expect from a fishing slot. While they do the job, they have a retro video slot vibe to them that feels a bit dated. The pelican as the top symbol paying 200x for six is a nice touch, though the low maximum bet puts a ceiling on how exciting that actually ends up feeling in practice.

This game’s symbols are images from a successful fishing trip and a couple of card royals.

The pelican pays you the most at 200x your bet for 6 of a kind. This is above average for a Megaways slot, but must be viewed in the context of the betting range.

The most you can win per spin in Fishin' Frenzy Megaways is 10,000x your bet.

How to Play Fishin' Frenzy Megaways

Chloe's Take: Fishin’ Frenzy features Blueprint Gaming’s clean and functional standard layout, meaning nothing here should trip you up. Also, the Bonus Buy button is easy to find on the main screen, which I appreciated given how quiet the base game can be. That said, I was disappointed to learn there’s no way to speed up the gameplay, as being confined to a single speed can make me a bit restless sometimes—especially during short sessions.

The buttons on the main screen offer you standard slot controls. The big, circular spin button, autoplay, betting, and menu buttons let you control the game.

The slot’s 6-reel layout is typical of Megaways slots, but there is no bonus horizontal reel. All the symbols, except the pelican, require 3 or more for a winning match. The seabird only needs you to land 2 or more for a payout.

Fishin' Frenzy Megaways: Theme, Presentation, and Music

Chloe's Take: I found the underwater lake setting more calm than immersive, and the animation isn’t quite as fluid as many modern slots tend to be. Moreover, the base game is mostly silent aside from the retro sounds that play while the reels spin and land. As a result, the overall experience felt a bit barebones. The light country tune that kicks in during Free Spins was a pleasant surprise though, as it gave the bonus rounds a warmer, more energetic feel that is lacking in the base game.

Fishin' Frenzy Megaways takes you below the surface of a serene lake. The opaque reels display bright, basic symbols, and there isn’t much ofa soundtrack until you trigger the bonus round, where you are treated to a light country tune.

Verdict

Chloe's Take: Reel Time Gaming’s Fishin’ Frenzy is a fairly straightforward slot that, although enjoyable, might be a bit too barebones for some players. While I certainly had fun playing it, the lack of music during the base game, the somewhat dated visuals and sounds, and the muted thrills mean it’s not really a title I could see myself returning to regularly.

Fishin' Frenzy Megaways is a competent slot experience, but it could be so much more. On the one hand, this is an easy-to-play slot, withan exciting bonus round that combines Free Spins and collect mechanics. The bonus buy option is another plus. At this stage, it feels odd if a slot doesn't have one.

On the other hand, we just couldn’t get into this title. It’s probably a little too basic for most experienced players, and the betting range takes all the wind out of the sails of the 10,000x max winning potential.
